Pleasing Fungus Beetle - Tritoma pulchra

Pleasing Fungus Beetle - Tritoma pulchra
Petersham, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
June 23, 2005
Size: 3mm

Thanks Tim
Maybe he was going from memory, instead of a book on the identity of this one.

Identified by
Christopher Majka - Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History, as Tritoma biguttata biguttata.

or T. pulchra?
hate to disagree with a pro, but this one really doesn't match the description for T. b. biguttata, which doesn't seem to have the elytra spot ever reaching the scutellum (or meeting along the suture) nor extending anywhere near this far aft. Rather it appears to fit very well the description for T. pulchra, described as "common" and with wide distro including MA and NH. See

Erotylidae
Scirtids don't have clubbed antennae
