Is it just me, or do the eyes appear a bit larger than...

Odd little guy.
I remember something like this when a kid in Ohio. If you touched them, your fingers got dusty. (Bad boy, Ronnie!)

It looked just like it was crouching to protect its head, but a better guess might be that it launches itself into the air with its legs for a quicker take off. Considering the tightly folded nature of the wings, probably a good thing.
