 Arabesque Orbweaver - Neoscona arabesca

Arabesque Orbweaver - Neoscona arabesca
Fort Bragg, Cumberland County, North Carolina, USA
June 24, 2005
My guess is orbweb weaver, although there was no web around.

interesting pattern
there are many in the guide with that interesting pattern on the back. Some are in Neoscona but we collected a group of them from several different places here in the hopes that someone would find them easier to ID, but it doesn't seem to have been successful.

Someone
is posting an announcement at the American Arachnological Society meeting this week that bugguide can use help with spider IDs. Perhaps we'll get some new members?
