Size: about 2" ?
I came across these grasshoppers today, and captured this shot. Are they differential grasshoppers? they were quite large. the female was a little bigger.

yeah i had just read something on here about how the pattern on their legs distinguishes them.

 
Size, too.
Size helps, too, as few other Melanoplus get this big.

I dont know how many other melanoplus are found in this area.
