Size: Half inch in length
This thing has been puzzling me for years. Caterpillar? Slug? Its the only one I've seen

I think it's in the genus Par
I think it's in the genus Parasa, family Limacodidae.

I went searching based on your info and I found something VERY similar in the family you suggested. Colors varied somewhat but not much. Spiky protruberances were lime green in that picture!

Both guesses are right..
In a way. This is a Slug-Caterpillar, the caterpillar to a moth. Here is more info on them. This one in particular I'm unsure of the species on, though.

Thank you, now I know where to look. Maybe I might yet pin it down. It would be nice to know exactly what it is. So striking, it looks more like it would be more at home on a coral reef that a flowering cherry in my yard.
