Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter - Homalodisca vitripennis - female

Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter - Homalodisca vitripennis - Female
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
September 1, 2008
So named for their habit of expelling excess water waste with such force to make an audible popping noise. This is my first attempt capturing a small bug in a ziploc and scanning at high resolution. It certainly offsets the limits of my point-and-shoot camera.
