Elegant insects from early July - Strangalia luteicornis

Elegant insects from early July - Strangalia luteicornis
Millford, Kensington Metropark in Southeastern Michigan County, Michigan, USA
July 2, 2008
Size: Approx. 1"
This picture was from July 2nd. I just found out about this site and so didn't submit it until now. The picture was taken in Kensington Metropark in Millford, MI in southeastern Michigan. I'm assuming that these are the same species, but different genders, but I don't know that for sure.

Moved
Moved from Strangalia.

Two species...
...Strangalia luteicornis in between two S. famelica solitaria.

Beetle identification.
Ted,

Thank you very much!

Not an expert
but maybe something in Strangalia? Maybe Strangalia famelica (Flower Longhorn) ???

Strangalia
Thanks, John! I think you've found it. Where did that link you included come from? I searched the pictures available through the clickable guide for beatles and couldn't find anything similar there. Do you have any idea if my picture represents gender differences or two different beetles?

Clickable Guide
If you click the link I gave, above the pictures and below the "tabs" you will see links...

Home » Guide » Arthropoda (Arthropods) » Insecta (Insects) » Coleoptera (Beetles) » Polyphaga (Water, Rove, Scarab, Longhorn, Leaf and Snout Beetles) » Chrysomeloidea (Long-horned and Leaf Beetles) » Cerambycidae (Longhorned Beetles) » Lepturinae (Flower Longhorns) » Lepturini » Strangalia

That lets you know where you are now (the last one - Strangalia), and the path you would have had to travel to get there (all the others).

Again, I am not a beetle expert, but I believe you have one species Strangalia famelica (Flower Longhorn), and the female is between two males. Now I guess we both have to wait for a real beetle expert to let us know how close I got :-)
