Braconid? w/ a hitchhiker - Female
Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado, USA
September 2, 2008
Size: ~9-10mm
I picked up this injured little wasp and when I went to photograph her, I noticed the little pseudoscorpion hanging on underneath her. I believe this is a braconid wasp, possibly in the genus Atanycolus. Verification, anyone? :)

Yes...
This is a female braconid wasp. Pseudoscorpions feed on pretty small insects and mites, so it is likely this one is just hitchhiking. It's possible that you have the genus correct, but confirmation is tricky with 21 subfamilies and at least 1000 species.
