resting Isopod - Porcellionides pruinosus Palos Verdes peninsula, Los Angeles County, California, USA August 30, 2008 Size: ~ 10 mm
Found on the underside of a rock.
The segments seem loosely connected, showing a white stripe underneath.
Perhaps that was because it was resting.
The unusual matte gray color might be due to the sandy soil it lives in.
A quick blurry snap of it running away showed its dorsum to be more shiny.
Doesn't seem to match any of the BugGuide photos closely.
Any hints are appreciated.
