Camouflaged Looper Caterpillar - Synchlora

Camouflaged Looper Caterpillar - Synchlora
Daphne (Village Point Park), Baldwin County, Alabama, USA
September 2, 2008
This Synchlora aerata looper (based on Wagner's "Caterpillars of Eastern North America") disguises itself by attaching chewed flower petals to its back. I left it with a different colored flower, today. We'll see if changes its costume. If it survives me, this cat will likely end up a Wavy-Lined Emerald.
