8467 - Variable Tropic Moth - Hemeroplanis scopulepes
A Florida (year round) species that straggles north to NY, rare in Maryland and probably so north of Florida or Georgia. Illustrated by Covell and by a James Adams specimen at MPG and on his Georgia website. This is the first living moth photo I have seen of the species. I'd appreciate receiving a taller photo for use at MPG.

Unfortunately Florida species are rarely illustrated. Since you took this at San Felasco, I bet they could tell you over at the Florida State Collection of Arthropods in Gainesville.

Macaria
Looks a lot like the macaria from around here, except in much prettier colors!
