Diogmites
This is one of three species. And I will attempt to get you the abbreviated Diogmites key for the KS group by email. However the genus is so up in the air currently for species definition in the central and southern portion of the US it is not easy. The three reddish species without well defined black lines on the thoracic dorsum are Diogmites new species Barnes 2009 (likely), D. angustipennis and D. symmachus.

D. texanus
Looks like this might be D. texanus based on the key you gave me. The dorsum definitely has black striping and it's not misellus becuase the central stripe is divided longitudinally. I have a second specimen that keys to D. angustipennis group. It doesn't appear to be the new species though, the abdominal segments at the end are pretty red laterally, more than just the terminal one. Should I go ahead and image it and upload to to Bugguide or should I leave it be?

Actually
This thoracic dorsum does not have the defined black stripes. Even though these markings themselves are fairly dark. This will be in the angustipennis trio. Wings will be more shaded in texanus. And I don't think you will have missouriensis. D misellus will only be found in shaded woods or near them.

cool
I had no idea this group was still in flux! Thanks for the key, I'll see what I can come up with!
