Unidentified hairy orange fly - Tachina

Unidentified hairy orange fly - Tachina
Oak Harbor, Washington, USA
September 3, 2008
Size: big fly
I found a picture off the internet that looks exactly like the guy I caught. The photographer does not know what kind of bug it is either.

Moved
Moved from Tachinidae.

Tachinidae: Tachina sp.
Tachinidae: Tachina sp.

Its a Tachinid to begin with,
and though I think I've seen this somewhere, I don't recall whether there was even a genus name on it. This is a large & difficult family (Tachinidae), this fly I'd guess in subfamily Tachininae.
Perhaps a Tachinid specialist can tell you more.
