Gregarious lep larvae on ornamental cherry - Datana

Gregarious lep larvae on ornamental cherry - Datana
Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, USA
September 4, 2008
Size: roughly 2 cm
Some Datana in a special Sonic Drive in Route 44 rearing chamber (AKA caterpillar Gitmo). Don't worry that are not being waterboarded in spite of what they did to my cherry tree. Notice the color change. The one on the right still has the red color of the earlier specimens, the one on the left is now black with pale yellow stripes

I thought they'd turn!
Sure look like Yellow Necked Cats now don't they!

Neat shot!
