Spider and Web - Mangora gibberosa

Spider and Web - Mangora gibberosa
Simsbury, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA
September 4, 2008
Size: approx. 1/2" body
I spotted a big Black and Yellow Argiope in her web and was going to shoot it when I saw this smaller web about a foot in front of it. I shot them both but I had to shoot the Argiope from the side because this one blocked my access to the front of the Argiope web.

Possiby -
a lined orbweaver (Mangora gibberosa) - but please wait for a spider expert to confirm...

We would agree
and we'll move it there.
