Plain Brown Syrphid - female

Plain Brown Syrphid - Female
Port Williams Beach, Sequim, Clallam County, Washington, USA
September 5, 2008
I was struck by how plain this syrphid is. No stripes, no wasplike camo.
Feeding on Entire-leaved Gumweed, Grindelia integrifolia.

Well
It's in the subfamily Eristalinae, but I'm not sure about the genus.
Could be a Mallota female, but also something in Lejops.
It look a bit like Lejops (Asemosyrphus) polygrammus, but it is not.
If I can find more (which is very difficult from pictures) I´ll get back to it.
Maybe martin has seen it before?
Greetings

Eristalis
I would think although I can't say what species. Not familiar to me. Maybe Ron will know it he's a lot better with these than I am.
