Harpalinae? - Poecilus chalcites

Harpalinae? - Poecilus chalcites
Kingman County State Fishing Lake, Kingman County, Kansas, USA
August 31, 2008
Size: 11mm
Hard to tell, but this is bright metallic green.

Poecilus
is likely. Compare Poecilus chalcites. Wait for Peter's opinion though.

Poecilus chalcites
is a safe bet. Unless I'm missing something, wouldn't it be more efficient to submit all suspected carabids, including this one, to the Carabidae guide page? That way carabid image hunters, like me, can simply click on Recent Images under Carabidae rather than wrestling with the general ID request.

Could do that :-)
I'll do that in the future, could you look at

Thanks Brad
Any ideas on the other Carabid, that's the one that really has me stumped. This individual is up for grabs as well if you'd like it. I'm trying to trade stuff for Buprestids these days and I have some cool carabids

Thanks Brad
