Tibicen canicularis
33 mm = slightly > 1 inch (Too Small for T. auletes)

Tibicen auletes is our largest cicada!
It has light tannish-grayish eyes (striking eyes) and when teneral is typically "mint-green" (on rare occasions red - very scarce color form).

Tibicen canicularis is a highly variable species in color and pattern. It is also one of the most common Tibicen species in the Northeast.

Thanks
I appreciate the help.

... if your measurement does not include the wings, and is a little on the shy side.

Measurement
doesn't include the wings, but I think that it is fairly close. I have an image of it near a ruler.
