Gymnosoma? - Gymnosoma

Size: ~ 1 cm
At first I thought this was a syrphid or soldier fly but, after looking through the BG images, it appears to be a tachinid fly in the genus Gymnosoma? Since the latin name means roughly "naked body", I guess that fits a very un-bristly tachinid?

I agree with your genus ID. One of the few pretty distinctive tachinids:-)
