Beautiful Wood Nymph or

Beautiful Wood Nymph or "Bird Poop" Moth - Eudryas grata
Gatlinburg, Sevier County, Tennessee, USA
August 8, 2008
This moth was seen on the patio of the University of Tennessee Field Station at the Bugguide Gathering 2008. It would have been well-camouflaged on a tree, living up to its not-so-flattering name, "Bird Poop" moth!

Looks like
Eudryas grata (Beautiful Wood-Nymph - Hodges#9301) much nicer name.
