Just wondering the name of this particular spider please.
Thank you!

Size?
Can you give us a rough idea of the size of this spider, please? This is a very nice image - I don't suppose you have one of the dorsal (opposite) side of the spider, too? Thanks!

Spider
Hello....it was approximatly one and a half inches in length. I waited for it to turn around but it did not. It was very close to a wall so I couldnt get a shot from the other side.

Thanks, Moe!
Although I'm not sure it can be identified without a view of the other side, this is a nice image and I'm going to try moving it to the Spiders page to see if one of our experts will comment. I suspect it might be an orb weaver - had it spun one of those classic vertical webs with the spirals (I think I can see a couple of spirals in the background)?

Hi Ken.....Thank you for your replies.
I have a picture of a spider that was about 100 feet away from this one. I did get a picture of the front of that one, the leg coloring looks identical. I will post that picture for you to compare. It was about an inch long.

I've unlinked the two images
since they are not of the same specimen. Here's a thumbnail of the other, for reference. Perhaps one of our spider experts will comment on whether they are the same species.
