Two-Toned Stink Bug - Banasa dimiata

Two-Toned Stink Bug - Banasa dimiata
Elysburg, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, USA
September 9, 2008
Never seen this coloration on one. Was it a developmental problem that caused this or, is it just a species I haven't seen before?

must be Banasa dimiata
(dimiata being is a misspelled 'dimidiata' [='divided in half'] describing pronotal coloration; zoonomenclature rules do not allow to correct spelling errors in the names assigned to taxa in original descriptions)

Thanks
for the ID and the interesting info.
