Davis' female - Oecanthus exclamationis - female

Davis' female - Oecanthus exclamationis - Female
Racine, Racine County, Wisconsin, USA
September 9, 2008
Size: 18mm
Found this female (over 6 weeks of searching in all the wrong places) in a field, on a weed overhanging a curb to a paved road. Davis' have a translucent pale green sheen, and a small area of gold at the vertex of the head, close to the antennae bases. She's now indoors with a male I collected as a nymph -- and hoping they will mate.
