Could someone please tell me if this might be a juvenile (male?) black widow? Since we had a female black widow and egg sac outside (and now can't find her or the sac) and I found this spider inside the house I am concerned it might be a baby. It looks brown but the pattern and legs looked somewhat like pictures of juveniles. It wouldn't sit still long enough to get a decent photo so will frass this after I.D. Thank you very much!

Not widow.
This is one of the "false widows" in the genus Steatoda. Same family as Latrodectus (Theridiidae), so that leads to much confusion. Nice image.

Thank you!
Eric, thank you. I can relax now! :-) My main concern is with my cats playing with these guys. It's still in the bugcatcher so I'll release it outside. And as long as you say it's a nice image, I won't frass it. Thank you! Carol
