You will see the scientific name shows up automatically when an image is moved to the correct level in the guide - no need to edit your title to include it, in fact doing so can be confusing, since it implies you already knew the name when the photo was submitted. : )

Take a look at the "Data" tab...

After clicking on the thumbnail you will see 7 tabs above the image. Taxonomy, Browse, Info, Images, Links, Books and Data.

The Data tab will display a map of the United States with states darkened in where these have been reported. Please keep in mind that this map only covers BugGuide. Just because your state may not have any reports of an insect doesn't mean that you should not find one there. It could be that no contributor has posted an image from that state.

In this case, North Carolina has had images of Florida Predatory Stink Bugs submitted to BugGuide. In fact, the thumbnailed image above from Lynette was taken in North Carolina :)
