? species of Cincindela - Cicindela punctulata
Near Rangely, Rio Blanco County, Colorado, USA
August 28, 2008
Found in wet sandy area near the White River.

I must have missed this pictu
I must have missed this picture earlier. You can clearly see the row of elytral punctures, and while the markings are more expanded than I would have expected, I believe this is Cicindela punctulata. The population at this site seems very variable.

Thanks again
Dennis,

I do have a specimen from a different county, and on the Yampa River instead of the White River that is nearly identical to the cicindela in this photos and I can clearly see the row of elytral punctures on it.

When I took photos of the tiger beetles at the Rangely location, most of which I have not posted, I thought I had 2-3 different species. I had no idea there was so much variation in color and markings in one species at the same location.

Thanks so much for all your help.

Dona
