Found this one laying outside the parking garage on my way home. Separated the wings to see the "bow tie" markins. Also got a shot of the underside.

Underwing moth.
This is an "underwing" moth in the genus Catocala. Not sure which species, but there should be several in your area. You might try "sugaring" for moths to see more of them, alive:-)
