Sad bug in the rain - Tibicen canicularis

Sad bug in the rain - Tibicen canicularis
Tavistock, Oxford, Ontario, Canada
September 13, 2008
Size: Approximately 2" long
Noticed this large bug sitting on the sidewalk in the rain. It didn't seem too impressed and wasn't moving much, until I came back with the camera - it was slowly crawling down the sidewalk, drenched and perhaps quite unhappy.

Tibicen canicularis
The common "dog-day" cicada. They don't appreciate days when it is not hot and sunny.
