Not only can you see the enla
Not only can you see the enlarged fore tibia/tarsi, you can make out the enlarged mid tibia as well, meaning this is Platycheirus quadratus.

Male is the right answer.
In this case the fore leg is very well visible, and we see clearly a enlarged fore tibia and also some enlarged tarsal segments (compare with those from the second leg).
Clearly a male Platycheirus sp.

Male syrphid
It's tough to tell more without seeing any pattern on the back, but Platycheirus often pose to preclude seeing that. I suspect you're right. Hopefully, an expert will comment.
