Small ants

Small ants
Durham, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
September 13, 2008
Size: 5 mm long (adult)
These ants were stuck to the side of a watering can (lying on its side) when I turned it over. Notice that the developing features of the larvae and pupae are both visible.

Moved
Moved from False Honey Ant.

Not Prenolepis
This is a Paratrechina species, but which one I can't say.

I am confused.
These two species have nothing in common except that they're small members of the Formicinae subfamily. I'll move these photos accordingly.
