vein noun - a tubular vessel which receives the blood or vital fluid and conveys it to the heart (i.e., the dorsal vessel, see Univ. Sydney Entomology) and circulating centers.

venation noun - the state of having veins, or the pattern of veins or vein-like structures within a larger entity (Wiktionary--venation).
