it may be A. californica
if the white abdominal bands are integumental and not hair bands (I can't tell for sure)

Thanks, John, for the two bee IDs.
And also for the info here. I'm pretty sure the bands are not hair. There's a fuzzy in-flight photo that should tell me for certain.
(Written later) Photo added at far righ confirms John's suspicions.
If an editor reads this, we need a new species page for A. californica.
