Red-blue Checkered Beetle - Trichodes nutalli
Neebish Island, Chippewa County, Michigan, USA
June 24, 2005
Found on a wild daisy, near woods, swamp, and open water. The black areas had a bluish iridescense in the sunlight. I'm not sure if the elongated head constitutes a snout for a snout beetle or not.
