Sympetrum corruptum ? - Sympetrum corruptum
Aromas, San Benito County, California, USA

Size: ~4cm.
Saw this guy in our pasture yesterday, after looking through (1), my best guess is Sympetrum corruptum. (live oak/chaparral habitat).

Sympetrum corruptum, agreed
Nicely colored, i.e. vivid red and clean white. (Many, here at least, are all-around grayish.)

Thank you Ron
for the ID confirmation. This guy was particularly cooperative, he took off a number of times, but each time landed nearby on the pasture fence or short trees where I could easily photograph him.
