Oslar's Oakworm Moth Caterpillar - Anisota oslari

Oslar's Oakworm Moth Caterpillar - Anisota oslari
Texas Canyon, Dragoon, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
September 18, 2008
Size: About 3"
Found on an Oak Tree branch at an elevation of about 4,600.
The closest comparison I could find was that of a Gulf Fritillary - Agraulis vanillae, which we do have in large numbers a little more than a mile from this find.
Now ID'd...thank you Christina.

What about Oslar's Oakworm Moth Caterpillar?
Anisota oslari?

You can search for it in the guide, I am sure it's here somewhere!

Nice find!

Anisota oslari
..sure looks like that. Thanks Christina! I'll do a little more checking and then move it.

No problem!
I thought I recognized this cat from some earlier research I did on an unrelated species. Haven't seen many pictures of these guys, so congrats!
