Possibly

Possibly "Henry's Elfin"?...or "Gray Hairstreak"?
Rogur River, Jackson County, Oregon, USA
September 17, 2008
Size: app 3/4"
This caterpillar was feeding on the flowers a Spearmint bush. I looked up what it might be, but was confused by where my book said the "Henry's Elfin" would be...NOT Oregon. Appreciate any help...thanks.

Strymon melinus
A good match for Strymon melinus and on appropriate hostplant.
I looked into what might be confused with this species on the west coast and there is no similar flower feeding species, so I feel confident on calling these now.
