Leaf Mine on Poison Ivy - Cameraria guttifinitella

Leaf Mine on Poison Ivy - Cameraria guttifinitella
Hartford County, Connecticut, USA
September 20, 2008
Found in Poison Ivy Toxicodendron radicans (syn. Rhus toxicodendron, Rhus radicans)

According to www.microleps.org, Cameraria guttifinitella makes a "yellow blotch mine on the leaf of poison ivy, Rhus radicans".

The larva is ~5mm. Some other leaves had somewhat larger and smaller ones. Can someone confirm that this is a leaf miner moth?

Is it possible to bag the plant and rear it to adulthood?

There are two other poison ivy leafminers listed in Needham et al. 1928 (also moths), but their mines would have distinctly different shapes.
See page 31 of the above reference for information on rearing leafminers.
