Garden Orbweaver - Banded Garden Spider - Argiope trifasciata - female

Garden Orbweaver - Banded Garden Spider - Argiope trifasciata - Female
West of Benson, Bordering Cochise County, Arizona, USA
September 21, 2008
Size: Large - Body maybe 1 inch
While out looking for insects and such on the Desert Broom plants in my front yard in a rural desert area, 4,600' elevation,
about six miles west of Benson, I found this gorgeous spider. My research has led me to this point.
Is this a genus of the Garden Orbweaver - Argiope? Also, I believe it is a female.

Moved from Garden Orbweavers.

Banded garden spider.
This is a female Argiope trifasciata. Those specimens from arid places tend to be very pale.
