Bloodsucking conenose? - Triatoma sanguisuga

Bloodsucking conenose? - Triatoma sanguisuga
Clinton County, Illinois, USA
September 24, 2008
Size: 32mm
My husband found this guy near a basement window and caught it to show to me, but it escaped before I saw it. I found it on the wall the next day, and I'm glad because I'm fairly certain it's a bloodsucking conenose. Not a critter I want for a roommate. :)

Yes.
Fabulous image, too! Triatoma sanguisuga is the species. You must have wood rats in the neighborhood, as that is the normal host.
