Size: ~12mm
Found on grass with spun silk "nest" and another spider (female?) inside. Guess this is probably a male. Would be good to get confirmation. Another image shows white bands on its black legs, but didn't post since it's pretty fuzzy.

You might be the last entomologist to visit Pena Blanca Lake for a few years. It is a "superfund" site, and they are closing it any day now to drain it, dredge all the mercury-laden sediment, and allow it to naturally re-fill. Supposed to take between two and ten years....

that's the reason I decided to go all the way down there - figured it would be the last trip to Pena Blanca for a long time - to bad.
