Twice-stabbed Lady Beetle Pupa (Chilocorus sp.) - Chilocorus

Twice-stabbed Lady Beetle Pupa (Chilocorus sp.) - Chilocorus
Bear, New Castle County, Delaware, USA
August 24, 2008
Size: ~ 4 mm
Found on Red Pine. I posted images of adult Ladybird Beetle which was found on the same Red Pine so I believe that these are of the same species.

Chilocorus sp.
But there are at least 3 possibilities in Delaware, and I can't find any larval keys that go farther than genus in Chilocorus. The color is not like C. stigma that I've seen, and C. kuwanae is a good possibility with the adults present, but I don't know enough about C. tumidus to rule it in or out.

(Someone really needs to get some C. tumidus images for the Guide, maybe I'll take a field trip to the Potomac next spring...)

Prepupa?
I guess that this would be considered a prepupa, shedding its larval skin; and the last one in this series would be the pupa.
I hope that Abby takes a look at this soon. I am sure that she can narrow it down to species.

Definetely Coccinellidae pupa

Thank you!
