Mystery flying beetle in Arlington, VA - Halyomorpha halys

Mystery flying beetle in Arlington, VA - Halyomorpha halys
Arlington County, Virginia, USA
September 27, 2008
Size: 8-10 mm
I have a lot of these flying around trying to get to the windows and the lights. They fly slowly, kind of like Japanese beetles; you can catch them with your hands. I think they were here last fall too.

I have not been able to determine where they originate in my house. I have a dirt crawl space, timber framing and a fireplace.

Kind of interesting pattern on their backs. But I am concerned that they might damage my house (or something). I basically want to get rid of them

Thanks for your help!
