Is there such a thing as a Pig Fly? - Tritoxa flexa

Is there such a thing as a Pig Fly? - Tritoxa flexa
Chiwaukee Prairie in Pleasant Prairie, WI, Kenosha County, Wisconsin, USA
September 28, 2008
Size: 5-10mm
Found about 1 foot above ground on tall grass. Is the pig snout shape of the face an optical illusion? Is the curled tip of the abdomen an ovipositor?

Tritoxa flexa (Black Onion Fly)

Thanks, John....that was a quick ID
Do you happen to know if that is the ovipositor in the other view that is curled up?

Sorry
I don't know that much. I'm waiting to see, too.
