Is "Superb Bee Fly" some sort of common name?
Interesting creature, but potentially hard to ID. (I'm grasping at straws here.)

Suggestion: If you don't get an ID here in a couple of days, move your post to Bee Flies.

Actually, nothing could be simpler. This is the spectacular Exoprosopa rhea. It can be locally common from SE AZ to montane regions of N Mexico. It is less collected than it ought to be, due to its late season, I think. Nice job! It's a first for BG.
