Is this an older specimen?
Body hair looks depleted, plus there are nicks on the wings. I'm increasingly encountering the latter condition on the bee flies I see and shoot.

 
Yes, most of those I observed at the time
were quite worn, and there were relatively few. Exoprosopa doris, observed at the same time, was seen in greater numbers and fresh looking.
