Tiger Beetle - Cicindela rufiventris

Tiger Beetle - Cicindela rufiventris
Milton, Massachusetts, USA
July 2, 2005
I think this a Cicindela rufiventris. It has the red abdomen sticking out in back. The spots look about right, but much bolder than normal.

Cicindela rufiventris
The subspecies in the Boston area is more boldly marked than other rufiventris. It is subspecies hentzii, sometimes spelled, or misspelled, as heutzii.

Thanks Harry
for the info and confirming the species id.
