Spider 1550 - Arctosa littoralis

Spider 1550 - Arctosa littoralis
Wolfe's Pond Park, Staten Island, Richmond County, New York, USA
June 22, 2008
A small Wolf Spider? I'm thinking Pardosa because of the size and general appearance even though I could not find any good matches.

Wolf Spider
What a great shot! It's amazingly hard to see on that surface. My daughter thinks it looks like a peanut. With those spiots, do you think it might be a Pirata?

Arctosa littoralis?
How about Arctosa littoralis or something close to it?

Thanks
This is one of my new favorite shots. It's nearly poster size at high res.

I've moved it to Lycosidae for now. If you think it should be in Pirata let me know and I'll move it again.

One of our favorites, too!
The spider seems to appear and then disappear.
