I did a bit of searching for a match for your picture and I was not able to find anything on bugguide. Doing a bit of internet research led me to Harmonia dimidiata which seems visually to be a match. The only trouble is that I can only find it on Asian websites. I can't find any info about where it lives.

That actually looks like a really good match, I will have to try some searching myself when I get some time. With a 4 month old and a full college class load it makes it tough right now...
