I swept this crab spider from some brush. Adult male thomisid. Possibly Misumenops, but I'm having trouble with the key...

Possible species ID -
from Darrell Ubick: "It seems to resemble Misumenops importunus".

My palp image does closely match the illustration of the importunus palp here - figure 174, page 128. And the holotype is from San Mateo Co.!

Moving to genus page for now. I'm tempted to move to species level, but I'm not sure - Dr. Ubick's comment sounds like the palp image may not be quite definitive?
