Size
10-18 mm
Identification
Pronotum sharply angled, almost square, at the front. Elytra orange. Antennae prominently banded.
Range
Eastern North America. Reported from Minnesota, North Carolina, Florida.
Habitat
Deciduous forests
Season
May-August (northeastern North America). April (North Carolina Sandhills). June-July (North Carolina Mountains).
Food
Adults come to flowers.
Life Cycle
Breeds in decaying deciduous trees, such as hickory, beech, oak (1).
